Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Engineering Consultants, P.C. is a consulting engineering firm serving clients (primarily water and wastewater treatment plants) in the Greater Fox Valley area.  We specialize in providing electrical engineering, instrumentation and control systems design services to our municipal, industrial and commercial clients.  Growth potential and opportunities for advancement with this dynamic new engineering company are unlimited.

Candidate Must Have:

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience, minimum
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
  • Strong communications skills (written and oral)
  • Proven ability over a broad range of skills, including:
  • Power distribution system design (low and medium voltage levels)
  • Development of motor control schematics
  • Lighting system design (indoor / outdoor / emergency)
  • Preparation of plan drawings and specifications (purchase and installation)

Considered a Plus:

  • Municipal water / wastewater experience
  • BSEE from accredited university
  • Illinois Registered Professional Engineer

Wastewater Operations Supervior

This position is responsible for operations at 2 plants with a combined capacity of 25 MGD, supervising 12 operators, scheduling, training, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with NPDES permits.  Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years experience in wastewater/water operations and supervising employees. Experience preparing and monitoring budgets, strong organizational skills, strong time management skills, and an ability to communicate verbally and in writing are required.  Position requires a Class 1 Illinois Wastewater Operations license or equivalent and the ability to obtain an Illinois Class 1.  Experience with SCADA, proficiency in Microsoft Office products, and college level coursework in wastewater/water treatment, environmental issues, science, or other related fields are preferred.

Treatment Plant Operator

The Bloomington and Normal Water Reclamation District is seeking applications for a wastewater treatment plant operator. This position involves monitoring and appropriate process control adjustments for two plants treating design flow of 22.5 MGD, documenting actions taken as well as important observations, with frequent use of industry specific software.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a high school diploma (although the District would prefer environmentally related studies), ability to acquire Sate of Illinois Operator Class 4 Certification within one year, a valid Illinois driver's license, and must be able to lift 60 lbs, and occasionally carry 100 lbs.

A successful candidate will need to do a small amount of laboratory testing, work outdoors in any conditions, frequently use hand held measurement process monitoring instruments, collect and store samples perform minor maintenance, demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
