Ten
Day Water Environment Curriculum
CURRICULUM DESCRIPTION
"A" Booklet:
1. General Description: a written narrative that will recount
the major points to be covered during the lesson.
2. Key Terms/Review: a listing including definitions of
the important terminology used in the lesson. This section
may include a brief review of a concept from a previous
lesson which would lead the student into the new lesson.
"B" Booklet:
3. References/Handouts: a listing of the text books to
be utilized if there is a need for additional information;
a listing of the teaching aids utilized (videos, charts,
etc.); and the applicable handouts available. It is the
responsibility of the classroom teacher to photocopy these
handouts; a copy of each handout is included in the "B" booklet.
(Note that the WEF workbooks should be utilized during
class, but collected afterwards; singular copies can be
made available to assist students).
4. Questions/Homework: a listing of problems/important
questions are provided; should these concepts not be raised
by the students, the teacher should provide "lead-ins".
Our intent is not be burden the students with homework,
but it is our belief that some quizzes (typical questions
with answers provided in the appendix) plus a small group
project should be part of the course.
"C" Booklet:
A teacher's guide and reference manual, the contents contain
many references, activities, "hands-on" experiments, and
glossary of environmental terms. Additionally, follow-along
video guides are offered for students to fill out while
viewing each video segment.
